Territory Manager

The Territory Manager oversees the western and eastern branches of NextStep, supporting NextStep’s mission of empowering youth all over Canada through financial literacy.

Responsibilities

  • Establishes relationships with western and eastern educational institutions that are willing to implement the NextStep program

  • Plans and schedules training session with branches

  • Prepares all required material and Branch Trainers for each training session

  • Works with Curriculum Managers to ensure that information is prepared in a timely and efficient manner

  • Travels to external NextStep branches to aid in training teams to implement our program at their institution

  • Teleconferences with branches and gain updates on their development

  • Communicates with branches to answer their inquiries and aid them in program implementation

  • Reports to Program Manager about external team development

Qualifications

  • Must be willing to travel

  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Must have strong interpersonal skills

  • Leadership experience is an asset

Logistics Manager

The Logistics Manager ensures that all our events run smoothly, from planning to execution. Their efforts ensure that all attendees and speakers have a great experience.

Responsibilities

  • Plans and schedules Mind Your Money workshops and NextStep Conferences throughout the school year

  • Reserves rooms and catering services for each event

  • Prepares all required material and selected workshop facilitators for each workshop/conference

  • Ensures all required documents are signed and all training is done prior to each event

  • Works with External Relations team to secure speakers and sponsors for events

Qualifications

  • Must have great time management and organization skills

  • Must be able to multitask

  • Must be able to co-ordinate a team and be able to delegate tasks on short notice

  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Leadership skills are an asset

 

Finance Manager

The Finance Manager is responsible for controlling the finances of NextStep and ensuring any spending is in line with the project’s mandate.

Responsibilities

  • Develops event budgets based on past events and specific event needs

  • Maintains financial records of revenues and expenses

  • Reports to NextStep Program Manager and Enactus VP Finance

  • Oversees financial sustainability of the project’s operations

  • Works with External Relations Manager to secure outside funding and sponsorships

  • Responsible for preparing financial statements for grant purposes and for filing annual tax documents

Qualifications

  • A background in Accounting or Finance is preferred

  • Experience in budgeting and financial analysis

  • Knowledge of CRA not-for-profit system

  • Must have strong attention to detail

External Relations

Manager and director roles available

The External Relations Manager is responsible for securing sponsors and grants to support the future growth and activities of NextStep. They are in charge of creating strategic partnerships with organizations who share the same values as NextStep.

Responsibilities

  • Developing relationships with community stakeholders to generate partnerships for NextStep

  • Prepare sponsorship proposals for corporations

  • Prepare and submit grant applications to community and government organizations

  • Create and update sponsorship package as needed

  • Assist project in external communications

  • Acts as a liaison between partners and NextStep

  • Works with Government of Alberta stakeholders on the development of financial literacy curriculum

  • Works with Marketing Manager to generate buzz in the community surrounding the project

  • Reports to the Program Manager

  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to take “no” as an answer

 

Marketing Manager, National

The Marketing Manager is in charge of curating all marketing and promotional material for our national audience. You will work with the Territory Managers to ensure that all NextStep events of our national teams gain the necessary exposure and support from their respective communities.

Responsibilities

  • Creates posters, banners, and various materials for event marketing

  • Creates detailed post schedules per event

  • Handles NextStep social media accounts and engages followers regularly

  • Works with Curriculum Managers to create workshop materials

Qualifications

  • Experience in graphic design is an asset but not required

  • Experience in photography and videography is an asset but not required

  • Must have strong attention to detail

  • Must have strong interpersonal skills

  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills

Internal Manager

The Internal Manager is responsible for developing the team through team bonding activities and ensuring a safe work environment for all. The Internal Manager reviews all incoming applications and hires the best talent for the team.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for scheduling team meetings and booking meeting locations

  • Takes accurate minutes during team meetings

  • Plans and schedule engaging team bonding activities

  • Hire and onboard new team members

  • Works with Program Manager to provide support and guidance to NextStep members

Curriculum Manager, Mental Health

The Curriculum Manager, Mental Health is responsible for creating new lesson plans focused on mental health and updating current workshops material with the expertise of our partners. You will work alongside the Curriculum Manager, Financial Literacy to integrate the two subjects into one lesson for the purpose of empowering youth all across Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Curate new lesson plans and improve the current curriculum for NextStep Conference and Mind Your Money workshops

  • Works with NextStep’s partners to update current lesson plans and ensure all information is accurate

  • Work with the Government of Alberta stakeholders on provincial curriculum review

  • Work with Branch Trainers and Marketing Manager to deliver training content to all NextStep branches

  • Continuously looks for innovative strategies and activities to teach students the importance of mental health

Qualifications

  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Must have strong attention to detail

  • Must have strong interpersonal skills

  • Must be passionate about mental health

Marketing Director, Edmonton

The Marketing Director is in charge of curating all marketing and promotional material for our Edmonton audience. You will work with the Logistics Manager to ensure all NextStep events of our Edmonton team gain the necessary exposure and support from the community.

Workshop Facililator

The Workshop Facilitator is the face of NextStep. They are in charge of teaching high school and university students during the Mind Your Money workshops and NextStep Conference. As a facilitator, they ensure that all students understand the information being taught and are engaged throughout.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates their schedule with Logistics Manager and fellow Workshop Facilitators

  • Signs up to teach at least one workshop per month

  • Teaches workshops to high school and university students throughout the year

  • Travels to schools around Edmonton to deliver presentations when required

  • Works with Curriculum Managers to develop workshops and lessons if necessary

Qualifications

  • Must enjoy working with teens and students

  • Must have a passion for financial literacy and mental health

  • Must be patient and responsible

  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Must have strong attention to detail

  • Must have strong interpersonal skills
